Readers,
One of our main goals last year was to reach many, many more people where they are. Not just OG Shit Givers or lifelong activists, but also — for example — bird nerds, parents, and sci-fi fans.
So we launched Life Finds A Way and Not Right Now, and partnered with Maddie Stone to bring The Science of Fiction into the rotation. What a year.
Not Right Now episodes are free and ad-supported, with the exception of our bonus episodes, but Life Finds A Way and The Science of Fiction (and, once upon a time, my own essays) were behind the paywall, Members-only.
No longer.
Starting today, every regular episode of our podcasts and every issue of our essays are free to read (and share!).
We’re so excited.
But to be clear — they’re still not free to make. Not even close. Not when actual human beings write every word of these things.
So here’s the deal: when we find the right partners, the essays, like It’s Called Science., will be ad-supported.
But you can get them nice and clean, with nary an ad in sight.
And more importantly, you can make sure we can keep paying real actual human editors and writers, by becoming an Important Member.
With this move, it’s actually more helpful than ever that you contribute directly to our independent, reader-funded work. If you can afford it, you can help keep most of our work free for the people who can’t.
You can get started right now with a free 30 day trial — during which you can cancel anytime — and then it’s just $50/year (or 96 cents a week!) to keep this work going.
Together or nothing,
Quinn
