Happy Wednesday, Shit Givers.
I spent the past few days in New Haven, CT at the YIMBYtown 2025 conference and I gotta tell you — and especially as an introvert that generally and genuinely loathes conferences — it was superb.
It is a hell of a thing to be surrounded by 900 other (drastically more experienced) humans from states, cities, and small towns all over the country (and some from abroad!) who have made it their life’s work to make other people’s lives better.
They asked, “What can I do?” and while the answers vary widely from to curb cuts, from messaging to highway funding, height restrictions and transit density requirements, aging in place to raising a family on a bootstraps budget — the goal is the same: drastically more homes, that are electrified, affordable, and each take up less ground space, and near more transit options.
I am sincerely excited for next year, and in the meantime, to expand on all of the new relationships made. We’re going after housing in a real way here, and hope by next year we’re a major player in getting four million new homes under construction.
We’ve got a special edition this week, check it out below!

It’s time to elect people who’ll actually fucking do something sensible about the guns we use to kill ourselves, to kill each other, to kill children, politicians and their husbands and dogs, and massively popular podcasters who relentlessly promoted racism, violence, and guns “in the right way” across college campuses and YouTube, but no matter how much he evangelized this world we live in, still shouldn’t have been killed in a country that keeps failing to live up to its goddamn promises.
Here’s 20 candidates from across the country who are up for election this fall and endorsed by either Giffords, Everytown, or Brady.

Our BEST FRIENDS at Run for Something have endorsed at least 91 candidates across the country, running for everything from school board to mayor and town council, and you can find them all right here.
Don’t see a RFS-endorsed candidate in your area?
Run yourself, Larry

Donate to one or twelve of these humans anyways, because you never know who’s gonna win, and win again, and keep rising to the top:

Want to support candidates who’ll support families? Or people who’d SURE LOVE to be able to afford to have a family? With a real minimum wage? Paid sick days? Better funded public schools?
Here’s 15 stellar candidates up for election in November endorsed by the Working Families Party.

How about candidates, who, despite everything, every day, haven’t forgotten about climate change?

It’s always been about control with these people — the same people, every time, since the dawn of time — but these 21+ November candidates are fighting back: for reproductive rights across the country. They’re each endorsed by either Emily’s List or Planned Parenthood. Support them now.

But that’s not it:

That’s it.
It’s time to elect more people who are renters, have had an abortion, grew up on SNAP and/or without healthcare, and more — people who’ll walk the walk because they don’t know any other way to fucking do it.
Thank you — as always — for giving a shit.
