Summer Dropkick Day 2: 2025 Candidates!

Friends (and Geoff),

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Summer Dropkick! (missed Day 1? It’s right here)

I’m extremely excited about today’s goodies, but first, a reminder:

❝

🚨 This is the LAST WEEK to lock in an Important Membership for $2/month or $20/year — after Sunday, it’ll go up to $3/month or $30/year! 🚨

Every new Member, of course, still gets a 30 day free trial — and you can cancel anytime.

Try it free now

Next up: Candidates!

I’m super stoked to share our 2025 pool of Important Candidates — an absolutely pivotal year for states, cities, school boards, and more across the United States.

IYKYK: We source these progressive candidates directly from the organizations we trust the most to endorse them.

We’ve got 150 or so amazing progressive candidates who give a shit loaded into WCID for you right now.

And there’s more to come: we update endorsements every week, by hand, as they’re made/announced/discovered.

There’s still a few weeks left of primaries in various states and cities, and then we’ll have more endorsements from the groups above and others, like Planned Parenthood.

Be patient: not every group and candidate shares their endorsements the same (or at all, sometimes — these places are hella strapped for resources), so our team and partners have to do some serious searching to get these all in one place for you freaks.

This is a reminder, again, that it all takes a ton of work. It takes partnerships and software and services and hours and hours and hours to get right.

You can make sure this work continues by becoming an Important Member.

Make sure it continues

Here’s the most important bit about these candidates:

Is money in politics the root of all evil? Basically!

Are we condemned to use the tools of our enemies to defeat them? You betcha!

❝

When you donate to a state or local race, your dollar goes much, much, much further than it would for any single federal race.

I cannot emphasize enough how little it costs to influence a school board race and how fuckin’ good it feels to get your candidate elected and out there making sure every student gets get lunch, air conditioning, and maybe even a daily ride on an electric school bus.

Turns out you can just do stuff!

Search for 2025 candidates by their endorsement, location, or both.

Throw cash at candidates close to home, or far away — or both!

These 150 Important Candidates are young people, parents, single parents, vets, renters, people who are or have been on SNAP and Medicaid, who have pre-existing conditions, who’ve lost their homes/and or insurance to fire, flood, or hurricane risk, who had childhood asthma, who have been bullied for who they love and/or the color of their skin.

In other words: these are exactly who the next generation of leaders should be.

Find out who they are right now.

(Find some folks you’re excited about, but got no time to act? Drop them onto your To Do List with one click — but you’ve gotta be a Member to do so!)

Thank you as always for giving a shit. See you tomorrow!

PS: Miss your usual WCID Weekly email? Totally get it. Here’s the #1 thing you can do right now: call your US Senators, whatever their affiliation, to demand they vote against catastrophic cuts to SNAP and Medicaid. It only takes a minute and we’ve even got a script for you!
