Hollywood needs to start showing us climate solutions
Maddie Stone
By Maddie Stone

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a piece I wrote for Polygon today that I thought would be of interest to y'all. It's a call to action for Hollywood filmmakers to start imagining climate solutions. Climate change, I argue, is finally having a pop culture moment, but the vast majority of films and TV shows that touch on the subject take a pretty apocalyptic view of our future. This, IMO, is a lost opportunity to show huge audiences that a more sustainable tomorrow is possible. I even offer a few examples of recent science fiction novels that do just that, in case any film scouts are looking for inspiration. (Some will be familiar to regular readers of this newsletter :)

Read the full Polygon article here. And keep an eye on your inbox this weekend for a journey into past and future lives of our cities! – Maddie
